American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ER experience and Epic proficiency.
Details\n- \n
- Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients \n
- 12-hour night shift schedule (3x12, 19:00-07:00) \n
- Every other weekend required \n
- No on-call responsibilities \n
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed \n
- 1:4 patient ratio \n
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias \n
- Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure \n
- 12-week contract assignment \n
- \n
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration \n
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS \n
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required \n
- Previous travel nursing experience required \n
- Epic charting system experience required \n
- Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, and central line care \n
- Experience caring for ventilated patients and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs) \n
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors \n
- Proficient in triage and isolation precautions/PPE \n
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred \n

- First-time travelers will not be considered for this unit \n
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population \n
- Manage dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure with continuous cardiac monitoring \n
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to submission \n
- No RTO requests permitted during orientation week \n
- Holiday coverage required: if 1-2 major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if 3 major holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered \n
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day \n
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate \n
- Previous Piedmont employees (perm/per diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler \n
- Returning travelers who were previously unable to return to a facility must complete one successful assignment outside of Piedmont before rebooking \n
