American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 1 Trauma Stepdown unit requiring WV or Compact RN licensure and prior trauma/IMC/PCU experience.

- Work in a 5S Trauma Stepdown (IMC/PCU) unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital \n
- Unit includes 25 floor beds and 6 step-down beds, with care provided to multi-system-injured trauma and surgical patients \n
- Travelers are not required to care for pediatric patients \n
- Patient ratios are 1:5 on the floor and 1:3 in the step-down unit \n
- Day shift schedule of 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM, with every other weekend required \n
- 36 or 48 hour contract options available with blocked schedule requests accommodated \n
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs \n
- Charting is done in Cerner \n
- Orientation and start dates occur every other Thursday \n

- Active WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for consideration \n
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, including at least 1 year of in-specialty experience \n
- Background in PCU, IMC, Trauma, or SDU preferred \n
- BLS and ACLS certification required through AHA \n
- CPI and Fit Test certification required; TNCC preferred \n
- Skilled in IV starts, ventilator management, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation \n
- Level 1 Trauma experience preferred \n
- First-time travelers accepted if experienced in ICU or Trauma \n
- Minimum of 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from within the past 2 years required \n
- \n
- Provide multidisciplinary nursing care to multi-system-injured trauma and surgical patients in a collaborative team setting \n
- Facility is a short-term acute care, Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital, member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH) \n
- Scrub color required is Royal Blue/White for RNs \n
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medical exemption is documented; not required outside this window \n
- COVID vaccine is not required \n
- Fit test required in advance using an approved mask, with candidates potentially traveling up to 100 miles to complete it \n
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility, though those between 75-99 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis \n
- Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from their last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler \n
- Current employees of the broader health system (including CAMC, Mon Health, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for this travel contract \n
- Holiday RTO requests should be limited to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays \n
