Facility: Alliance Care Rehabilitation and Nursing Center
Location: Irvington, NJ
Position: Speech Therapist (PRN)
Schedule: PRN
Pay: $60.00–$65.00 per hour
Alliance Care Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced Speech Therapist to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. In this role, you will evaluate and treat residents with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders while working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to help residents achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life.
ResponsibilitiesEvaluate residents and develop individualized speech therapy treatment plans.
Implement evidence-based treatment interventions and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Provide therapy for cognitive-communication disorders, speech and language impairments, dysphagia, oral motor disorders, perceptual deficits, orientation, and psychosocial functioning.
Assess residents' progress and modify treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
Coordinate the acquisition and implementation of adaptive communication devices and train residents in their use.
Select therapeutic activities appropriate to each resident's physical abilities, cognitive level, and personal interests.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Educate residents and families on treatment goals, progress, and home strategies when appropriate.
Participate in care conferences, resident reviews, and interdisciplinary meetings.
Conduct in-service education and training for nursing and clinical staff regarding speech therapy techniques and best practices.
Supervise supportive personnel in accordance with state regulations and professional standards.
Maintain therapy equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs.
Deliver exceptional resident-centered care in a compassionate and respectful environment.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Current New Jersey Speech-Language Pathologist license, or eligibility for licensure in the State of New Jersey.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility to obtain certification.
Minimum of 1 year of nursing home or skilled nursing facility experience required.
Experience treating residents with dysphagia, cognitive deficits, and communication disorders.
Experience using PointClickCare and Net Health preferred.
Excellent communication, documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
