About the Role:
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant with Award Care at Saint Lucie, your primary responsibility will be to work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for residents in our skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. You will assist in assessing residents' physical and cognitive abilities, develop and implement interventions to improve their function and independence, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Responsibilities:
• Work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for residents
• Assess residents' physical and cognitive abilities to identify areas for improvement and develop interventions to address these needs
• Implement occupational therapy interventions, including exercise programs, manual therapy, and cognitive retraining activities
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, speech therapists, and nursing staff, to ensure comprehensive care
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident progress and treatment plans
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings to discuss resident care and treatment plans
• Provide education to residents, families, and caregivers on occupational therapy interventions and strategies for enhancing function and independence
