Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Avir Trilogy is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team!

We're looking for a Physical Therapist Assistant who wants hands-on time with patients and the satisfaction of watching progress happen week over week. Working under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you'll carry out daily treatment plans, guide patients through prescribed exercise and gait training, and track their progress so the care plan keeps pace with them.

What You'll Do:

• Support the Physical Therapist in developing and carrying out individual patient care plans, and complete daily therapy assignments toward treatment goals.

• Take responsibility for the daily care of your assigned patients.

• Guide patients through prescribed passive, assistive, and resistive exercise programs to build strength, muscle tone, and range of motion.

• Apply prescribed modalities such as ultrasound, muscle stimulation, traction, hot and cold packs, paraffin baths, and whirlpool, within your demonstrated competency and available equipment.

• Assist with gait training using parallel bars, walkers, crutches, canes, and braces to improve ambulation.

• Perform other therapeutic activities including massage and body mechanics instruction.

• Observe patients during treatment and note any significant change in condition.

• Chart patient response and overall progress, and refer patients back to the Physical Therapist for reevaluation as needed.

• Communicate regularly with the Physical Therapist on program design, implementation, and progress, and seek their guidance when a situation calls for it.

Qualifications for Physical Therapist Assistant:

• Current license or registration as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of hire.

• Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and remain calm under pressure.

• Patience, tact, and a positive attitude with patients, families, and staff.

• Comfort working with patients who are ill, disabled, elderly, or at times upset.

• Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday and safely assist with patient transfers.
