Unit Aide/ HHA/ DSP/ Caregiver/ RAs

Responsibilities:

  • Follows proper infection control procedures 100% of the time, including: Handwashing Proper putting on and taking off Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by the facility
  • Ensures safe environment and safe patient experience.
  • Effectively communicates with patients.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Utilizes appropriate patient identification methods when providing direct care.
  • Follows abuse reporting requirements.
  • Provides close monitoring and observation of at-risk patients.
  • Demonstrates safe patient handling.
  • Effectively communicates patient observations to the nurse.
  • Reports changes in patient health outcomes, as defined by the institution policy.
  • Completes designated care tasks timely.
  • Maintains patient dignity and rights and demonstrates sensitivity to cultural diversity.
  • Ensures clean patient living environment.
  • Makes environmental rounds on the unit looking for items that need attention
  • Answering call bells,Pass out meal trays
  • Successfully completes Feeding Assistant Program and works under supervision of RN/LPN to feed or assist residents who do not have complicated feeding problems.
  • Prepares rooms for new admissions, Makes beds,Stocks linen carts
  • Assists with resident room changes including packing and/or unpacking of personal belongings and setting their rooms
  • Enters all personal belongings into EMAR system., Ensures clothing is labeled as per facility polic
  • Checks residents multiple times throughout the shift ensuring call bell and personal items are within reach
  • Assist with patient nutritional needs, including feeding and adherence to specified dietary orders.
  • Provides 1:1 supervision of residents if necessary
  • Assists with medical transports as needed

Requirements:

  • High school Graduate/GED
  • Lived in caregiving experience as family/informal caregiver, childcare provider, housekeeping, respite provider, is a plus
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability yo read, write and speak in English. 

Compensation:

  • Rate will be commensurate with experience.
