Job Description
The Commercial Insurance Specialist serves as the agency's trusted advisor for complex commercial and agribusiness insurance placements and remarketing strategies. Working closely with Producers, Account Managers, and insurance carriers, this position evaluates renewal strategies and identifies and develops competitive insurance solutions that help retain existing clients while aligning coverage, pricing, and carrier fit with each client's unique needs. Through strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and collaboration, this role strengthens client relationships, supports long-term retention, and contributes to the continued success of the agency.

Responsibilities
Lead the remarketing process for large commercial and agribusiness accounts.
Review renewal strategies and identify opportunities for improved coverage, pricing, or carrier fit.
Analyze current coverage forms, endorsements, pricing, and exposures.
Prepare complete carrier submissions for renewal remarketing opportunities.
Negotiate with insurance carriers and wholesalers to obtain the most competitive terms.
Compare quotes and identify coverage differences between carriers.
Present recommendations to Account Managers and Producers.
Maintain strong relationships with carrier underwriters.
Monitor carrier appetites and underwriting changes.
Meet agency service standards and turnaround expectations.
Identify cross-selling and coverage enhancement opportunities.
Requirements
Minimum of five years of commercial insurance experience in an independent agency, carrier, or related environment.
Strong understanding of commercial insurance coverages, including Commercial Package, Property, General Liability, Commercial Auto, Umbrella, Workers' Compensation, Inland Marine, and Agribusiness insurance.
Experience evaluating, placing, or remarketing large commercial accounts preferred.
Experience working with complex industries such as agriculture, manufacturing, contractors, or transportation is a plus.
Ability to interpret policy language, identify coverage gaps, and recommend appropriate solutions with a customer-focused mindset.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to compare coverage options and evaluate risk.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Producers, Account Managers, and insurance carriers.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Pennsylvania Property & Casualty License, or the ability to obtain and maintain required licensing within a designated timeframe.
