About the Role: 
Marine Chemist Service Inc is looking for a motivated Industrial Hygiene Technician to join our team in Newport News, VA. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, safety-focused environment where your expertise helps protect workers and ensure compliance across industrial and marine operations. Responsibilities: 

• Conduct industrial hygiene sampling and monitoring for asbestos, lead and other metals, and mold
• Perform atmosphere testing in marine and industrial settings
• Collect and document field data, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate records
• Support compliance with OSHA, NIOSH, and other applicable regulatory standards
• Calibrate, operate, and maintain industrial hygiene monitoring equipment
• Collaborate with clients and safety personnel to identify and mitigate workplace health hazards

Requirements:

• Prior experience in industrial hygiene, environmental health, or occupational safety is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations, NIOSH methods, and industrial hygiene sampling techniques is also a plus but not required.
• Experience working in marine, shipyard, or heavy industrial environments is highly desirable
• Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying environmental conditions
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed. Company vehicles are provided.
