A Spirit Guide is the person who leads every guest through their experience with us, from the first hello to the last goodbye, ensuring they leave feeling something they didn't feel walking in. This role was built on a simple belief: hospitality is anticipation, not reaction. A Spirit Guide doesn't wait to be asked — they discover. They read the table before the table speaks. They know the menu, the bar, and the mood of the room well enough to guide a guest toward exactly what they didn't know they wanted. Our curriculum teaches three core principles that every Spirit Guide lives by: 1. Engage — Every guest is a story in progress. A Spirit Guide steps into that story with warmth, curiosity, and genuine attention. 2. Anticipate — Great service is invisible until it's needed. A Spirit Guide anticipates needs before they're spoken. 3. Elevate — Every interaction is a chance to elevate the guest's experience, the team around them, and the business itself. Growth is everyone's job. Position Overview The Spirit Guide is a hybrid front-of-house role combining server, bartender, and digital order specialist responsibilities. This person is the face and energy of New Levels — responsible for guest experience at every touchpoint, whether someone is sitting at the bar, seated at a table, or ordering through DoorDash or Uber Eats. This is not an entry-level "just take the order" position. We're looking for someone who takes ownership of the guest relationship in every facet — in person and through our digital ordering channels — and who genuinely cares about the growth of New Levels as a business. Key Responsibilities Guest Experience - Greet, engage, and build rapport with every guest; discover their preferences and anticipate their needs throughout the visit - Learn the full food and beverage menu in depth, including ingredients, preparation, and flavor profiles, to make knowledgeable recommendations - Learn all drink recipes and bar offerings to serve confidently as a bartender when needed - Create and maintain an environment that feels warm, elevated, and conducive to guests returning again and again Service & Sales - Take and accurately enter orders for dine-in, bar, and third-party delivery platforms (DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc.) - Actively upsell menu items, drinks, and specials — with the business's growth as a genuine priority, not an afterthought - Monitor and manage incoming third-party app orders for accuracy, timing, and quality control before they leave the building Team & Business Growth - Operate with the mindset that every shift contributes to New Levels' bigger picture - Communicate guest feedback and operational observations to leadership - Support a culture of professionalism, consistency, and hospitality excellence among teammates Performance & Ramp-Up Structure - Trial Shifts: All candidates will complete 2–3 trial shifts prior to formal hire to assess fit, energy, and alignment with our service philosophy - 90-Day Ramp-Up Period: New Spirit Guides go through a structured 90-day onboarding and development period, during which performance is actively measured across guest experience, menu/drink knowledge, upselling, accuracy, and teamwork Ongoing Performance Measurement: Spirit Guides are evaluated on an ongoing basis using clear, consistent standards tied to guest satisfaction and sales performance What We're Looking For - Prior server, bartender, or hospitality experience preferred - Strong communication skills and natural warmth with people - Comfort learning and managing technology (POS systems, third-party delivery apps) - A growth mindset — someone who wants the business to win and sees themselves as part of that - Reliability, coachability, and pride in representing the New Levels brand How to Apply Interested candidates should submit an application and be prepared for 2–3 trial shifts as part of our hiring process.
