Job Description
The Electrical Technician is responsible for assisting with inspecting, troubleshooting, testing, repairing, installing, and modifying electrical components and systems across all company facilities. The Electrical Technician is also responsible for maintaining electrical equipment and materials while ensuring all electrical work is completed following industry and best practices regarding safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with installing, maintaining, and enhancing electrical systems and components, including fuses, lights, and wiring
- Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning
- Assist with performing preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
- Assist with connecting and disconnecting power for vessels as needed
- Repairing or replacing damaged electrical components such as cords and outlets as needed
- Maintaining proper documentation of the repairs and conditions of various electrical components including cords, outlets, heads, and panels
- Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes, blueprints, and standards as directed
- Ensure electrical equipment is properly stored and maintained while not in use
- Communicate with and assist other departments as needed
- Stocks and assists in maintaining inventory of shop supplies, materials, tools and equipment
- Maintains clean, orderly and safe work areas; properly maintains assigned equipment and tools
- Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor and staff, co-workers, guests, vendors, contractors, etc.
- Following company, industry and best practices regarding safety standards (safe equipment usage, personal protective equipment, reporting)

Qualifications & Requirements
- At least 2 years experience working as electrician
- Basic understanding of electrical principles, including circuits, voltage, and current
- Familiarity with common electrical tools and equipment
- Knowledge of general safety practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams with minimal supervision
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation practices
- Ability to perform installation, maintenance, and basic repairs independently
Familiarity with testing equipment (e.g., multimeter) to diagnose and resolve routine issues
Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Requires climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting
- Requires the ability to use speech, vision and hearing
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to changes in temperature and humidity
- Work is performed outside in the elements, on and around water
