Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly organized Personal Injury Paralegal to support attorneys in the management of personal injury matters from initial client intake through settlement or litigation. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of personal injury case management, medical records, insurance claims, legal documentation, and litigation support.

This individual must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and have the ability to manage a high-volume caseload while providing exceptional service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

Case Management

  • Manage personal injury case files from intake through settlement and litigation
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical case files
  • Monitor case deadlines, statutes of limitations, and litigation calendars
  • Provide regular case status updates to attorneys and clients
  • Coordinate case activities with attorneys, clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and other parties

Client Communication

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding case updates and documentation
  • Conduct client intake and gather relevant accident, injury, and insurance information
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients throughout the case lifecycle
  • Provide professional and compassionate client service while maintaining confidentiality

Medical Records & Documentation

  • Request, obtain, and organize medical records and billing documentation
  • Prepare medical chronologies and summaries for attorney review
  • Track client medical treatment and outstanding records
  • Communicate with healthcare providers regarding records and billing requests

Insurance & Claims Support

  • Communicate with insurance carriers and claims adjusters
  • Obtain insurance coverage information and policy documentation
  • Assist with evaluating damages and compiling supporting documentation
  • Prepare settlement demand packages and related correspondence
  • Track settlement negotiations and claim status

Litigation Support

  • Assist attorneys with drafting pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, subpoenas, and legal correspondence
  • Coordinate depositions, mediations, independent medical examinations, and court appearances
  • Prepare exhibits, trial materials, and case summaries
  • Assist with e-filing and ensure compliance with court procedures and deadlines
  • Support attorneys with trial preparation as needed

Settlement & Case Resolution

  • Assist with settlement documentation and closing statements
  • Request and negotiate medical liens, as appropriate and under attorney supervision
  • Coordinate settlement disbursement documentation
  • Ensure case files are complete and properly closed

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred
  • Paralegal certificate preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in personal injury law preferred
  • Experience managing pre-litigation and/or litigation personal injury cases
  • Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and personal injury claims
  • Experience with legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
