Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Nursing to lead our nursing department with passion, precision, and strategic insight. Duties
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance nursing services and improve patient outcomes across the organization
- Manage departmental budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources while meeting financial goals and maintaining quality standards
- Oversee staffing, staff supervision, and personnel management in accordance with state-specific education laws and healthcare regulations
- Lead the recruitment, training, and evaluation of nursing staff to ensure high levels of competency and engagement
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare laws, accreditation standards, and safety protocols through rigorous monitoring and policy updates
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align nursing initiatives with organizational goals and community needs
- Promote instructional leadership in education by supporting ongoing staff development, training programs, and educational initiatives in nursing practice
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement in patient care delivery
- Provide expert guidance on clinical procedures, quality assurance measures, and organizational best practices in healthcare management
- Lead efforts in organizational budget management to optimize operational efficiency without compromising care quality
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is required; Master’s degree or higher in Nursing Administration or Healthcare Management is preferred
- Valid state nursing license with current registration and compliance with state-specific education laws
- Proven experience in management within healthcare settings, including school or academic health environments preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, budgeting, personnel management in education or healthcare environments
- Strong leadership skills with experience in team management, staff supervision, and organizational development
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and safety protocols relevant to nursing practice
- Experience with instructional leadership in education or academic settings is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners
- Proven ability to lead change initiatives while maintaining high levels of staff morale and patient satisfaction
