Job Description
(New Orleans,LA): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an experienced CDL Class A Heavy Haul Driver to safely transport oversized and overweight loads. This position is ideal for a dependable, safety-focused professional with experience hauling heavy construction equipment using specialized trailers. FTS offers top pay, steady year-round work, quality equipment, and local routes.
Essential Duties:
• Safely transport oversized and overweight loads in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Haul construction equipment, including cranes, excavators, dozers, and other heavy machinery.
• Operate RGN, Lowboy, Step Deck, and Multi-Axle trailers.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Properly secure loads using industry-approved methods and equipment.
• Maintain accurate driver logs and required transportation documentation.
• Obtain and comply with oversize/overweight permits and routing requirements.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and job site personnel.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
Requirements/Skills:
• Valid CDL Class A driver's license.
• Previous heavy haul and oversized/overweight transportation experience required.
• Experience operating RGN, Lowboy, Step Deck, and Multi-Axle trailers preferred.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, load securement, and permit requirements.
• Clean driving record.
• Dependable, motivated, and committed to safe work practices.
• Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb on and off trucks and trailers and secure loads.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to sit for extended periods while operating commercial vehicles.
• Must be able to meet all DOT physical and medical requirements.
