Job Description

The Laboratory Coordinator (LC) is responsible for the management of laboratory materials and human patient simulators. This includes ordering materials with input from the Director of the Simulation Laboratory, The coordinator collaborates with faculty who use the laboratories to ensure efficiency. This position reports to the Director of the Simulation Laboratory.

 

Responsibilities

 

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepares mannequins, both high and medium fidelity, and supplies ahead of time for simulation activities.
  • With the help of the Skills Laboratory Manager, develops and maintains inventory and par numbers for all supplies on a regular basis .
  • Prepares labs and supplies ahead of time for all laboratory activities.
  • Maintains equipment needed for ACLS and PALS training.
  • Sets up/breaks down supplies after laboratory activities and identifies supplies to be discarded and replaced.
  • Anticipates inventory requirements for each quarter and assures supplies are available for all upcoming classes.
  • Minimizes waste while assuring supplies are adequate.
  • Organizes and labels supply room in an orderly fashion.
  • Orders and prepares nurse packs for Foundations students.
  • Maintains mannequins and equipment in good working order and takes appropriate steps to correct any deficiency.
  • Prepares and labels medications that reflect medications needed for all classes
  • Tracks and maintains linen supplies.
  • Participates in other activities to improve and maintain the learning laboratories at quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

The Laboratory Coordinator (LC) will have a minimum of a high school diploma and experience with the working of a learning laboratory, excellent time management and organizational skills, and must be a hands-on person who is able to work independently. It is preferred that the LC has a Colorado CNA license. The LC must maintain a professional and friendly demeanor and represent the company in a professional manner with all customers, personnel, vendors, and students.
