Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Day Shift 

 Starting Pay: $25.00+ per hour (DOE)
 Schedule: Monday-Friday | Day Shift
 Industry: Metal Recycling 

Penmac Staffing is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a well-established metal recycling facility in Webb City, MO. This is a full-time day shift opportunity for an experienced mechanic who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment. 

Job Responsibilities 

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment used in recycling operations. 

• Perform preventative maintenance on loaders, excavators, forklifts, material handlers, skid steers, and other equipment. 

• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, brake, transmission, and air systems. 

• Complete welding, cutting, and fabrication repairs as needed. 

• Conduct equipment inspections and identify maintenance needs. 

• Maintain accurate service and repair records. 

• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize operational downtime. 

• Follow all safety procedures and company policies. 

• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe. 

Qualifications 

Previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or related field preferred
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical diagnostics
Welding and fabrication experience a plus
Ability to read service manuals and schematics
Must have own basic mechanic tools
Valid driver's license required
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

Physical Requirements 

• Lift up to 75 lbs. 

• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. 

• Climb on and inspect heavy equipment safely. 

• Work in an active industrial and recycling environment.
