Production Tech 1 - Now Hiring

Penmac Staffing is hiring a dependable and mechanically inclined Production Technician for a full-time, long-term opportunity. This role focuses on repairing, maintaining, and reconditioning construction equipment. The Production Technician will work hands-on with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems while supporting production flow and equipment reliability.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial or heavy equipment
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, including laptop-based software and gauges
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read equipment manuals, work orders, and basic schematics
• Basic math skills and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for most of the shift

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance on Genie construction equipment using established procedures
• Complete mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assembly and disassembly tasks
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation
• Diagnose equipment issues using laptops, gauges, and testing instruments
• Disassemble and reassemble components according to manufacturer specifications
• Read and follow work orders, manuals, and build instructions
• Coordinate with team members to request parts and support workflow
• Load and unload equipment or components as needed
• Escalate complex repair issues to supervision when necessary

Work Details

• Pay: $20.00 per hour
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with occasional Saturday overtime (5:00 AM – 11:00 AM)

This Production Technician position offers steady hours and the chance to build valuable hands-on experience with heavy equipment. Overtime is currently available and expected but may decrease as staffing levels increase. Apply online or contact the Penmac Springfield branch for more information.
