Job Description

•    Perform and supervise MIG welding using wire up to 1/16th on plates and parts up to 2′′ in thickness, in flat, vertical, and angled positions.

•    Preheat parts as required prior to welding.

•    Set up parts per blueprint drawings using fixtures and measuring devices; inspect grooves, angles, gap allowances, squareness, and imperfections on parts.

•    Train, mentor, and assist co-workers as needed to ensure consistent weld quality and skill development.

•    Inspect materials, weld quality, and completed assemblies — recording results and flagging non-conformances.

•    Operate a forklift to move and position heavy components safely.

•    Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and Trackside quality standards; maintain a clean and safe work environment in line with 5S standards.

•    Assist management with scheduling and workflow coordination across welding stages.

•    Contribute to continuous improvement of welding processes and procedures.

•    Other duties as assigned.

•    ISO procedure adherence.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

•    1-2+ years of prior welding experience, with demonstrated ability to work to welding blueprints and specifications.

•    Weld certificate of training.

•    Proficiency with MIG welding machines including daily setup and maintenance.

•    Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints and work instructions.

•    Ability to use and read a tape measure to 1/32” increments, comfortable with carpenter’s squares, combination squares, levels, and basic welding tools.

•    Experience using electric grinders.

•    Physically fit — able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds repetitively throughout the workday.

•    Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.

•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact effectively with co-workers and management.

•    Reliable attendance and willingness to work flexible hours and weekends when required.

•    Safety-oriented mindset with commitment to a clean and hazard-free work environment.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•    Experience welding with hard-surfaced wire (e.g., Stoody) desired but not required.

•    Certified sit-down forklift operator.

•    Familiarity with torque specifications and calibrated measuring tools.

•    Experience in an ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environment.
