Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Location: San Antonio, TX

Pay: $17.00 per hour

We are hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for a busy tire retreading facility. This is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining and repairing conveyor systems and production equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical troubleshooting skills who is comfortable diagnosing equipment issues, making repairs independently, and performing preventative maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems and production equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime
• Replace bearings, chains, rollers, belts, motors, and other mechanical components as needed
• Inspect equipment for wear and identify potential mechanical problems before failures occur
• Use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively
• Assist with equipment installations, adjustments, and repairs
• Maintain a clean and safe work area while following all company safety procedures

Requirements

• Previous experience performing mechanical maintenance in an industrial, manufacturing, production, automotive, agricultural, or heavy equipment environment
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical equipment with minimal supervision
• Experience working with conveyors, bearings, chains, rollers, sprockets, gearboxes, or similar mechanical systems preferred
• Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Must pass a background check and drug screen
