Job Description
A leader in advanced manufacturing is seeking an experienced TIG Welder to join its Lancaster, Pennsylvania facility. This position is responsible for setting up and operating manual welding equipment to produce high-quality aluminum components in accordance with blueprints, specifications, and established safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
-Set up and operate manual welding equipment to perform TIG welding on aluminum components.
-Complete welding assignments in accordance with blueprints, work instructions, and product specifications.
-Interpret verbal and written instructions from manufacturing leadership to determine job requirements.
-Perform tack-welding operations to join metal components at specified locations and distances.
-Inspect completed work and document required quality measurements and results.
-Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
-Follow all required safety procedures and properly use applicable safety equipment and tools.
-Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
-Comply with company policies, manufacturing procedures, and quality standards.
-Participate in cross-training and support other manufacturing assignments based on operational needs.
-Work collaboratively with manufacturing, machining, and quality-control personnel.
-Perform additional duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
-Ability to set up and operate manual TIG welding equipment.
-Experience welding aluminum components.
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding instructions, and production specifications.
-Ability to work within established dimensions and tolerances.
-Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.
-Basic mathematical skills necessary to set up and complete welding operations.
-Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
-Ability to successfully complete applicable welding examinations.
-Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
-Willingness to cross-train throughout the facility.
-Availability to work overtime and weekends as production needs require.
-Must currently reside within approximately 50 miles of the Lancaster, Pennsylvania facility.
-Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment sponsorship.
-Must qualify as a U.S. Person under International Traffic in Arms Regulations requirements. This includes --U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, political asylees, and refugees.
-Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Key Qualifications
-High school diploma, GED, technical-school diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred.
-Five or more years of related welding experience or training preferred.
-Welding certification preferred.
-Previous experience performing manual TIG welding in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements
-Regularly sit, stand, reach, and use hands to handle or inspect manufactured components.
-Frequently lift and move parts as required by the position.
-Safely work around components that may contain sharp edges.
-Communicate effectively with members of the manufacturing, machining, and quality-control departments.
-Perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
