OTM is hiring both an experienced and an inexperienced Underground Utility Technician / Utility Locator in the Aurora, IL area. What you will do

• Screen, dispatch, locate, document, and close out JULIE/811 tickets.
• Use maps, GIS data, record drawings, and ticket location information to determine conflicts.
• Locate and mark underground utilities accurately and safely.
• Respond to normal daytime tickets and occasional emergency/after-hours tickets.
• Communicate professionally with excavators, utility representatives, clients, and supervisors.

What we are looking for

• 1-2 years of underground utility locating / 811 / JULIE experience preferred.
• Experience with sanitary sewer, gas, electric, water/wastewater, telecom, or other underground facilities.
• Strong map reading, documentation, communication, and safe driving skills.
• Valid Illinois driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• A dependable field professional who can work independently and take ownership of ticket quality.

Compensation

• $20.00 - $30.00 per hour based on experience.
• Full-time schedule, typically Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
• Occasional after-hours/weekend emergency response as assigned.
