Job Title: Forklift Operator

Duration: 12+ Months

Location: Canaan, CT 06018

Pay Rate: $23.00/hr on W2

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour shift: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun / Wed, Thu)

Job Summary:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and accurate movement of products within the distribution center.

Responsibilities:

• Transport palletized products throughout the distribution center, including unloading, put-away, replenishment, picking, and loading.
• Operate material handling equipment (MHE), including: High Reach Forklift, Counterbalance Forklift, Electric Pallet Jack, Dock Stocker
• Use RF scanners and Warehouse Management System (WMS) to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Ensure product integrity while handling materials.
• Follow all site safety procedures and wear required PPE (safety vest and safety shoes).
• Cross-train in other warehouse functions and provide backup support when needed.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ year of relevant warehouse/forklift experience required (in lieu of diploma/GED).
• Intermediate experience operating High Reach or Counterbalance Forklifts.
• Experience with Manhattan WMS is preferred.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification within 2 days of employment.
• Ability to read and understand distribution documents in English.
• Experience using RF scanners and warehouse equipment.
• Basic computer, analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Strong attention to safety and productivity.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, lift, and perform repetitive hand movements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Vision and hearing sufficient to safely operate material handling equipment.

Work Environment:

• Moderate to loud warehouse environment.
• Regular exposure to moving machinery and industrial warehouse conditions.
• May require a mandatory medical evaluation in accordance with workplace safety requirements.
