Job Description
This role focuses on applying protective and decorative coatings to fabricated parts and machinery in an industrial setting. You will prepare surfaces, mix and apply various industrial paints, and operate spray equipment to ensure high-quality finishes that meet strict durability and safety standards.
Responsibilities- Prepare a wide range of fabricated parts and machinery for painting by cleaning, sanding, and performing detailed paint prep work.
- Apply protective and decorative coatings such as epoxy, enamel, and polyurethane to industrial components using spray guns and other paint sprayer equipment.
- Operate and maintain spray painting equipment, including spray guns and paint sprayers, to achieve consistent and high-quality finishes.
- Use sandblasting and blasting techniques to remove old coatings, rust, and contaminants, ensuring surfaces are properly prepared for new coatings.
- Work inside a paint booth to control overspray and environmental conditions, following established procedures and safety practices.
- Mix industrial paints to the correct viscosity, color, and consistency according to specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
- Inspect painted surfaces for coverage, adhesion, and finish quality, making adjustments as needed to meet durability and safety requirements.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines related to industrial painting, including proper handling, storage, and use of paints and coatings.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including cleaning equipment and paint booths after use.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize work, meet production schedules, and resolve any coating or finish issues.
- At least 2 years of experience in painting, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in industrial painting techniques, including spray painting and spray gun operation.
- Hands-on experience with industrial paints such as epoxy, enamel, and polyurethane coatings.
- Strong skills in paint preparation, including sanding, cleaning, and masking parts and machinery.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot paint sprayers, spray guns, and related industrial painting equipment.
- Experience working in a paint booth environment and following established paint booth procedures.
- Knowledge of sandblasting and blasting methods for surface preparation.
- Understanding of durability and safety standards related to industrial coatings and finishes.
- Attention to detail to ensure consistent coverage, adhesion, and high-quality finishes.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work to specifications, and meet production deadlines.
- Experience working with a variety of industrial paint products and finishes.
- Familiarity with basic equipment maintenance for spray guns, paint sprayers, and paint booths.
- Ability to read and interpret basic work instructions or job travelers related to painting processes.
- Strong work ethic and reliability in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Willingness to follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.

Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a non-climate-controlled (non-cc) shop environment typical of manufacturing and industrial facilities. You will work in and around paint booths, spray equipment, and sandblasting areas, handling industrial paints and coatings throughout the day. The role involves standing for extended periods, working around machinery and equipment, and following safety protocols related to industrial painting. Appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety and comfort in a production setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
