You support daily operations by transporting, loading, and unloading waste drums, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and contributing to environmental remediation activities. The position is ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career in the environmental field and grow into more advanced technical roles.

Responsibilities

  • Separate hazardous waste from non-hazardous waste and place materials in the correct areas of the warehouse.
  • Load and unload drums onto and off trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Dispose of waste by placing drums into the appropriate hopper or processing area according to procedures.
  • Support environmental remediation activities and general labor tasks as needed.
  • Perform routine sweeping and cleaning of the warehouse to maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines related to hazardous materials handling.
  • Use basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to support equipment and process needs.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth daily operations and meet productivity goals.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to safely handle, transport, load, and unload drums and other materials.
  • Strong attention to detail for reading labels and correctly identifying hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • General labor skills, including lifting, moving materials, and working in a warehouse environment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities to support environmental remediation work.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Reliable work ethic with a strong mindset focused on succeeding and contributing to the team.
  • Comfort working in both indoor warehouse and outdoor field environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus; training and certification are provided if not already obtained.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • Experience or interest in environmental science, environmental remediation, or construction-related work.
  • Willingness to build a long-term career and advance to higher-level technician roles, such as Tech 2 within 6 to 12 months.
  • Positive, "want to work" attitude with a focus on growth and development.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a warehouse and environmental field setting.

Why Work Here?

Work Environment

You work in a mixed environment, spending time both inside a warehouse and outside in the environmental field. The role involves handling drums, operating in and around trucks and hoppers, and supporting remediation activities in a facility that manages hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
