CNC Machinist - $30-40/hour
1st and 2nd shift available (4 day work week on 2nd shift)
Job Description
The CNC Machinist sets up and operates CNC turning machines to produce precision components within tight tolerances for demanding industrial and aerospace applications. This role involves running multiple machines, editing and optimizing G&M code, performing machine offsets and adjustments, and ensuring all work meets strict quality standards. The machinist works from detailed process documentation, utilizes ERP systems for data entry, and contributes to a clean, organized, and highly capable machining environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC turning machines, including Samsung, Doosan, and Mazak equipment, to produce precision machined parts.
- Run 2–3 CNC machines simultaneously while maintaining quality, efficiency, and safe operating practices.
- Read, understand, and interpret G&M codes, making edits and minor programming adjustments as needed to optimize machining operations.
- Apply a thorough understanding of machine tool paths to ensure accurate and efficient part production.
- Perform machine offset adjustments and make modifications to speeds and feeds to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
- Work from process sheets, blueprints, setup sheets, setup cards, machine status boards, and both verbal and written instructions to complete jobs correctly.
- Machine, install, or re-cut components as required to meet engineering and customer specifications.
- Insert and secure tooling in machine turrets, perform complete machine setups, and verify tooling configurations before production runs.
- Download and upload programs into CNC machines, ensuring correct program selection and version control.
- Operate various types of computerized numerical controls to perform a wide range of machining operations within tight tolerances.
- Inspect own work using appropriate measuring tools to verify correct dimensions and adherence to company quality and quantity standards.
- Complete required quality and production documentation accurately and on time.
- Inspect the work of other machinists when required to support overall shop quality and consistency.
- Operate multiple machines and rotate through different departments as needed to support production demands.
- Enter production and process data into the ERP system to maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area in line with shop standards.
Essential Skills
- At least 4 years of CNC lathe machining experience.
- Hands-on experience machining on Samsung and Doosan CNC lathes.
- Strong ability to read, understand, and edit G&M codes for CNC programs.
- Proven ability to set up own CNC lathe with only minor assistance.
- Demonstrated ability to perform machine offset adjustments accurately.
- Ability to adjust machine speeds and feeds to achieve optimal machining performance.
- Proficiency in CNC lathe operation and CNC setup.
- Experience with G&M code editing on Mazak and other CNC control platforms.
- Solid blueprint reading skills and ability to work from detailed process documentation.
- Experience performing quality inspections on machined parts to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Ability to operate different types of CNC equipment within tight tolerance requirements.
- Comfort with entering production data into an ERP system.
- High school diploma or GED.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
