School Counselor in Swanzey, NH

Step into an impactful role supporting students and families in elementary schools across the Swanzey, NH area on a contract basis for the 2026-2027 school year. As an Elementary School Adjustment Counselor, you’ll provide crucial responsive and rehabilitative services designed to help children thrive both in and out of the classroom. Collaborating with educational teams and serving multiple elementary schools, you’ll play a vital part in fostering a positive school environment and enabling students to fully access their educational opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver counseling, intervention, and crisis support to elementary students and their families
• Partner with school educational teams across multiple sites, allocating your time between Franklin, Wheelock, Symonds, and Fuller Elementary Schools
• Assist in assessments, referrals, and the development of individualized plans to address students’ academic, social, and emotional needs
• Maintain accurate records and documentation while upholding confidentiality and ethical standards
• Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to identify barriers to learning and recommend proactive strategies
• Advocate for student welfare and foster strong school-family-community connections

Required Skills and Experience:

• Master’s Degree with job-related experience as a School Social Worker, School Psychologist, School Counselor, or Mental Health Clinician with significant school-based experience
• Licensed or eligible for certification as a School Counselor (NH 0040), School Psychologist (NH 0046), Associate School Psychologist (NH 0047), or School Social Worker (NH 0049)
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams
• Sound knowledge of child development, behavioral interventions, and trauma-informed care

This contract position offers a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week from late August through mid-June, providing the opportunity to make a lasting difference throughout the academic year.
