Job Description
Must-Haves:
- 2+ years of welding, fabrication, and assembly experience OR recent welding program graduate with strong mechanical aptitude
- TIG welding experience (primary focus)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols
- Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Own standard hand tools (company provides machines, specialty tooling, and PPE)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Plusses:
- Aerospace, defense, or AS9100 manufacturing experience
- Pipe and/or MIG welding experience
- Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Experience with Swagelok fittings, tubing, flaring, and threading
- Experience operating machine shop equipment (lathe, mill, drill press, band saw)
- Mechanical assembly and operational testing experience
- Understanding of FPI (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection), Visual inspections, and Ultrasonic inspections
Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking a Welder/Fabricator for a leading precision manufacturing and engineering client in Fairfield, OH. This individual will spend approximately 50% of their time welding and 50% performing assembly and prep work on high-precision aerospace/defense and industrial hardware, not commodity fabrication. The ideal candidate will have strong TIG welding experience, be comfortable reading engineering drawings, and enjoy working in a hands-on manufacturing environment where quality and craftsmanship matter. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced welders and junior candidates looking to develop their skills while working on complex, tight-tolerance products that support mission-critical applications.
Day-to-Day:
- Perform TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel components
- Complete mechanical assembly of precision fabricated products
- Cut, prep, bend, flare, and thread pipe and tubing
- Install fasteners and Swagelok fittings
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
- Conduct operational testing and quality inspections
- Work closely with engineering and production teams on custom fabricated assemblies
- Utilize hand tools and manufacturing equipment to complete projects
- Maintain AS9100 quality and safety standards
