Position Summary

We are seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers (Case Managers) to join a public school district in Winchester, CT. These full-time positions support students with diverse learning, behavioral, emotional, and social needs while ensuring compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The ideal candidate is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and helping students achieve academic and personal success.

Available Assignments
  • Kindergarten Case Manager

  • Grades 1-2 Case Manager

  • Grade 7 Case Manager

  • Grade 8 Case Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

  • Conduct educational assessments, behavioral observations, and progress monitoring.

  • Collect, analyze, and maintain academic and behavioral data to guide instruction.

  • Design and deliver individualized instruction aligned with curriculum standards and student goals.

  • Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and support Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs).

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, therapists, psychologists, and families to support student success.

  • Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team meetings.

  • Supervise and support instructional assistants as needed.

  • Utilize positive behavior supports and de-escalation strategies to promote a safe learning environment.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education required; Master's degree preferred.

  • Valid Connecticut Special Education Teaching License.

  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs.

  • Knowledge of IDEA regulations and special education compliance.

  • Experience with student behavior management and data-driven instruction.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Valid Connecticut driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

  • Experience with crisis prevention and de-escalation strategies is preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to participate in crisis intervention procedures when necessary.

Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Successful completion of federal and local background checks.

  • Completion of all required pre-employment screenings prior to start date.
