Responsibilities:
• Oversee biweekly payroll processing for a workforce of more than 200 employees, verifying accuracy and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local requirements.
• Maintain payroll files, validate payroll-related information, and complete reconciliations to support accurate financial records.
• Allocate payroll expenses across multiple business units and property portfolios, including related billing activities.
• Work closely with accounting partners to investigate variances, resolve payroll issues, and assist with recurring and ad hoc reporting needs.
• Contribute to payroll audit activity and assist with year-end payroll tasks, documentation, and follow-up items.
• Administer HRIS records and workflows by updating employee data, supporting reporting needs, and identifying opportunities to improve system efficiency.
• Support onboarding coordination, personnel documentation, and employee file maintenance in alignment with company policies and compliance standards.
• Prepare routine and custom reports for managers and leadership, and assist with analysis, troubleshooting, and data review tied to payroll and HR records.
• Participate in HR operational projects and process improvement efforts that strengthen accuracy, compliance, and overall team effectiveness.• At least two years of experience processing payroll, preferably in an environment supporting multi-state or multi-entity operations.
• Working knowledge of payroll practices, payroll tax requirements, employee benefits administration, and basic accounting concepts.
• Experience using payroll platforms such as ADP Workforce Now and confidence working within HR information systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with excellent attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy.
• Advanced organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through on critical tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, for reporting, reconciliation, and data review.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate professionally with employees and leaders at all levels.
• Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential employee and payroll information, along with a proactive, service-oriented approach.
