American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring GA or compact RN licensure and 2 years of specialty experience.

• 12-hour night shifts from 7p-7a with every other weekend required
\n
• Charge nurse takes patients
\n
• No dedicated nurse aides on the unit
\n
• Uses Meditech EMR
\n
• Nurses monitor and read their own telemetry using Philips monitors
\n
• Ventilators used are Draeger brand
\n
• Hospitalist coverage in house for the whole facility
\n
• IV team available Monday through Friday for hard sticks and midlines
\n
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7
\n
• Pharmacy available in house during the day, with Omnicell or on-call pharmacist support until midnight
\n
• Floating not required, but qualified and credentialed staff may float to the ER
\n
• Patient population includes lower acuity ICU cases such as pneumonia, CHF, and sepsis, with occasional pediatric surgical cases (e.g., pedi chole)
\n
• No cath lab patients as there is no interventional cath lab in house
\n
• Acuity level is closer to stepdown care
\n
• Holiday coverage rotates in with permanent staff
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active RN license (GA or compact) currently in hand
\n
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
\n
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
\n
• BSN not required
\n
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
\n
• Driver's license required for consideration
\n

Additional Information\n

\n
• Provide direct patient care in a 10-bed ICU with 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios
\n
• Floor-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts
\n
• Scrub requirements include hunter green pants with white tops and jackets, or solid white
\n
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for placement
\n
• Not eligible for placement if previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months
\n
• First-time travelers may be considered
\n
