Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a CA RN license, Epic experience, and at least 1 year of ER experience.

Details\n

\n
• Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
\n
• Facility is a STEMI Certified and Stroke Certified facility
\n
• Approximately 135 visits per day with 20-26 rooms/beds and an average daily census of 105
\n
• Day shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
\n
• Weekend requirement of 3 out of every 6 weekends
\n
• Floating required to cover the Observation Unit (ER Hold patients) as well as to sister facilities within the region
\n
• No on-call requirements
\n
• Uses Epic charting system
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
\n
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
\n
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
\n
• ENPC certification preferred
\n
• Community hospital experience preferred
\n
• Epic charting system experience required
\n
• 2 references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years, which may include Charge RNs/Leads
\n

Additional Information\n

\n
• Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and pediatric cases
\n
• Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and management of dysrhythmias
\n
• Experience with procedures such as chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP, ICP monitoring, and procedural sedation preferred
\n
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility
\n
• Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
\n
• RTO restrictions of no more than 7 days
\n
• Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the travel pay rate; local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate
\n
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
\n
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
\n
• Candidates may wear their own scrubs, provided they are solid-colored with no prints
\n
