Registered Nurse – ICU
Location\nAmericus, GA
Schedule / Job Type\nContract | Nights (6:45 PM start) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Rotating holidays
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Provide direct patient care in a 10-bed ICU setting with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio \n
- Independently monitor and interpret telemetry using Philips monitoring equipment \n
- Operate and manage ventilated patients using Draeger ventilators \n
- Care for patients with diagnoses including pneumonia, CHF, sepsis, and lower-acuity ICU presentations with a stepdown-level acuity profile \n
- Occasionally care for surgical pediatric patients as needed \n
- Collaborate with in-house hospitalist coverage and 24/7 respiratory therapy support \n
- \n
- Active RN license in good standing \n
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required \n
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications \n
- Proficiency or ability to work with Meditech EMR \n
- Ability to independently monitor and read telemetry \n
- \n
- Experience with Draeger ventilators \n
- Familiarity with Omnicell medication dispensing systems \n
- Charge nurse experience; charge nurses in this unit take patients \n
- \n
- Supportive unit environment with 24/7 respiratory therapy, in-house hospitalist coverage, and an IV team available Monday through Friday for difficult access \n
- Opportunity to float to the ER if qualified and credentialed, with no mandatory floating outside of that scope \n
