American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN Intermediate and NRP certifications along with on-call availability.

- Work on a combined unit servicing L&D (vaginal & cesarean), post-partum, antepartum, and Level II nursery \n
- Level 2 inpatient obstetrical and Level 2 NICU neonatal patient population \n
- Manages GYN/medical overflow, antepartum, and observational triage patients \n
- Provides Mother Baby couplet care and cares for border babies \n
- Performs obstetric procedures including versions, IOL, cervical ripening, IUFD care, bereavement support, and OR cesarean sections \n
- Staffing ratios include 1:1 for complications or active labor, 1:3 for stable antepartum, 1:1-2 for unstable/ill antepartum, 1:3-4 for couplet care, 2:1 for deliveries, and 1:2-3 for NICU Level 2 depending on condition \n
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM \n
- On-call requirement of 36 hours within a 6-week block \n
- 26-week contract length \n
- If floated outside specialty, will assist as helping hands using general nursing skills \n

- Active RN license (VA or Compact) required \n
- Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP \n
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required \n
- Charting system experience required (any system) \n
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred \n
- Previous charge experience preferred \n
- Skills in Pitocin (oxytocin) administration, labor and delivery management, C-section recovery, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and antepartum care and procedures required \n
- Experience with obstetrical patient triage required \n
- bCPAP skill preferred \n
- No prior travel experience required for candidates with 2+ years of L&D experience \n

- Candidates who previously worked a permanent position at this facility within the past 24 months will not be considered \n
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted \n
- RTO policy is holiday-dependent: expect to work one holiday if one falls within the assignment, one of two if two fall within the assignment, or two of three if three fall within the assignment \n
- General RN orientation occurs every other Monday \n
- Zero-tolerance policy for THC, including medical marijuana cards \n
- Drug screening required during compliance and again on first day onsite \n
- Fit testing required, and candidates must be clean-shaven unless a provider-approved exemption letter is obtained in advance \n
