Responsibilities of the Geriatric Nurse Assistant (GNA):
  • Provide compassionate, high-quality care to residents.

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility.

  • Monitor residents and report any changes in condition to the nursing team.

  • Take and record vital signs as assigned.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of resident care.

  • Ensure resident rooms and common areas remain clean, safe, and comfortable.

  • Work closely with nurses and the interdisciplinary team to provide outstanding resident care.

  • Treat every resident with dignity, respect, and compassion.

Qualifications for the Geriatric Nurse Assistant (GNA):
  • Current Maryland Geriatric Nurse Assistant (GNA) Certification required.

  • Previous experience as a Geriatric Nurse Assistant (GNA) in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility is preferred but not required.

  • Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to lift, reposition, and transfer residents safely.
