Position Overview

The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct care to residents in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and established standards within the skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. CNAs play a vital role in supporting residents’ daily needs while promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care focused on residents’ personal needs, safety, and comfort

• Assist with activities of daily living, including dressing, grooming, hygiene, and mobility

• Support residents with daily tasks such as telephone use, laundry, transportation, and mail

• Perform light housekeeping duties and assist with meal preparation as needed

• Provide medication reminders in accordance with facility guidelines

• Observe, document, and report changes in residents’ condition or behavior

• Conduct routine rounds to identify and address potential safety hazards or incidents

• Assist during mealtimes, including escorting residents, serving meals, and cleanup

• Offer companionship, emotional support, and positive social interaction

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program and certification required

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to perform essential job duties

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to treat residents with dignity and respect

• Ability to communicate in a professional, friendly, and compassionate manner

• Completion of new hire orientation required
