Responsibilities

• Assist with medication administration, including narcotic counts and medication passes, and maintain accurate records in the Medication Administration Record (MAR)

• Re-order medications, check for expiration dates, and ensure proper storage and disposal

• Monitor medication carts and report any discrepancies or missing medications to the charge nurse

• Assist with feeding and hydration during meal times

• Perform daily tasks, including refreshing ice in the dietary department and organizing the medication storage room

• Collaborate with the nursing staff to ensure accurate and timely medication administration

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to facility policies and procedures

• Perform other duties as assigned by the nursing staff

Requirements

• Current certification as a Medication Aide in the state of Texas

• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with minimal supervision

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records

• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as needed

• Ability to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends
