Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (Pediatric Home Health)Job Summary

CommuniCare is seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support pediatric speech and language services in natural environments, including clients’ homes, daycares, schools, and via teletherapy. Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide speech-language therapy services to pediatric clients under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP.
  • Deliver therapy services in homes, daycares, schools, community settings, or through teletherapy as appropriate.
  • Document treatment sessions, progress notes, and other required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with supervising SLPs, families, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals to support each child’s progress.
  • Assist in preparing therapy materials and activities.
  • Educate caregivers on strategies to encourage communication outside of therapy sessions as directed by the supervising SLP.
  • Maintain compliance with state, federal, Medicaid, and company documentation standards.
  • Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or related field.
  • Current South Carolina Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license
  • Completion of required clinical hours for SLPA certification.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while following supervision guidelines from a licensed SLP.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations is preferred.
