Certified Medication Aide (New Wages)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Medication Aide (CMA/CNA) to join our team at Cypress Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Reidsville, NC. As a CMA/CNA, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to our residents. Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document oral and/or topical medications

  • Verify the identity of residents before administering medication

  • Ensure prescribed medication is not administered to the wrong resident

  • Document any instance where prescribed medication is not administered

  • Assist with medication charting as directed

  • Verify adequate supply of medications and equipment

  • Order prescribed medications and supplies as needed

  • Follow facility policies and procedures regarding medication destruction

  • Notify the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse of any drug and narcotic discrepancies

Requirements:

  • Current Medication Aide Certification or Current Nursing Assistant Certification from NC

  • Current/active CPR certification

  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office and internet navigation

  • Highest level of professionalism with ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical and problem-solving skills
