Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications as ordered by the attending physician, under direction of the attending physician and licensed nurse in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Follow established pharmacy policies and procedures in administering medications and narcotics.

  • Ensure that no medication is administered without a written, signed, dated order from an attending licensed practitioner.

  • Provide accurate and timely documentation of scheduled and PRN medications.

  • Perform controlled substance count at the beginning and end of each shift worked. Complete and sign the Narcotic Book. Immediately report any discrepancies to the nursing supervisor.

  • Assist residents with dressing/undressing, daily dental/mouth care, eye/ear care, bowel and bladder functions, hair/nail care and daily bathing/skin care functions.

  • Accurately document daily care delivered on the LNA flow sheet. Provide other accurate and timely documentation as requested for bladder diaries, resident weights and meal and fluid intakes.

  • Provide restorative care following residents care plan. Document and report resident abilities and progress toward goal achievement. Assist residents to ambulate with or without self-help devices as instructed.

Experience:
· LNA - 2+ years 
· MNA - 1 year (preferred)
