Seasonal Production Associate (Part-time)

Part-time, seasonal, packaging associate job

Come join us at the Mill! Fowler’s Mill is a family-owned company operating out of a nearly 200-year-old historic mill in Chardon, Ohio.

We produce a wide variety of high-quality heritage American baking mixes including our best-selling buttermilk pancake mix, apple cinnamon pancake mix, apple crisp mix, pumpkin bread & muffin mix and peach cobbler mix. We sell these mixes to farm stands and general stores around the country.

We are looking for seasonal packaging help for those interested in working from 2 to 4 days per week (7-hour shifts during business hours, usually 9:00-4:00) through October or November.

Training is informal and takes place in the first two weeks of the job.

The job responsibilities include:

• Scooping our baking mixes into 1 lb or 12.5 lb bags. This may also include operating a dispenser to fill these bags
• Attaching labels to bags
• Putting filled bags into boxes
• Carrying a 27lb box and putting it on a shelf
• Some of our products are stored in tanks. It may be necessary to periodically climb an attached 6-ft ladder and use a plastic scoop to push the product within the tank to facilitate the dispenser operation.

Skills:

• Willingness to learn our quality and safety standards in a food production setting.
• Proficiency with measuring portions by weight.
• Ability to handle materials safely within a warehouse setting while maintaining organization and efficiency.
• Prior experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments is preferred but not required.
