BASIC FUNCTION
The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-impact tutoring for scholars in grades pre-K through Grade 8, in math and literacy, to close learning gaps. Tutoring will be embedded in established local education agencies in high-need communities during the school year. The New Jersey Tutoring Corps seeks to hire full-time Instructional Coaches/ Site Leaders to oversee tutor performance and the technical logistics of the program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Communicate regularly with both the site point-of-contact and your program team; set up a regular time to check in with each.
Develop a weekly schedule for yourself to ensure that time is set aside for priority activities.
Build positive, respectful, and professional relationships with both central team and site-level staff, creating an environment that promotes teamwork and an atmosphere in which tutors want to remain and to which they want to return.
Ensures that Tutors have and use the necessary instructional materials needed to help scholars succeed. Remains abreast of supply and inventory needs throughout the program duration.
Assists tutors with analyzing data to inform instruction.
Review and provide appropriate feedback on tutoring plans weekly. Lead weekly coaching meetings with Tutors.
Complete the On The Job Training Checklist (OJT) for tutors, updating at least weekly.
Conduct regular, informal observations on tutors (check-in, watch a portion of a session, take notes) using the OJT checklist and narrative.
Using notes collected during informal observations, complete formal observational narrative for tutors once in the beginning, middle, and end of the cycle.
Coordinate site logistics and manage any schedule changes caused by special site activities.
Problem-solve at site level; escalate issues to program manager when needed, providing timely documentation of site-level concerns to PM and APM.
Attend training sessions or professional meetings to develop or maintain professional knowledge.
Review scholar data and progress reports prior to distribution
Consistently completes and submits digital records of Tutor and Scholar attendance, scholar rosters, and site concerns.
Manages the Tutor's work schedules; creating quarterly schedules in our system platform
Actively monitors tutor attendance and (proactively) secures substitute coverage, when appropriate. Provide coverage in the absence of a tutor, when absolutely necessary.
Familiarize yourself with Knowtion, our online professional learning community, as one of our primary tools for communication.
Serve as a positive ambassador for the New Jersey Tutoring Corps.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s or Master's degree
Standard teaching certificate, certificate of eligibility (CE), or certificate of eligibility with advanced standing (CEAS) with successful teaching experience
History of mentoring others, providing feedback, and assisting with a course correction when applicable
Proven coaching experience in the public or charter school system (strongly recommended)
Experience negotiating with administrative faculty (strongly recommended)
Some knowledge of instructional frameworks such as Danielson, Marzano, or Strong (strongly recommended)
Experience with Google Suite applications: Google Docs, Sheets, and Forms.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and proven ability in conflict resolution skills;
Reliable transportation to and from the work site
Employer Qualifications:
Must adhere to local health department and school district requirements for the site at which you are working.
Successful completion of Criminal History Review, managed through the Office of Student Protection (OSP)
Undergo a background check for I-9 employment authorization to work in the United States immediately within 3 days of hire.

Paid training
Hybrid work schedule, 5 days per week (Monday - Friday)
Embedded school day schedule is 7:45 am - 3:45 pm
35- 40 hours per week, depending on specific site
10-month contract

COMPENSATION:
- Salary negotiable based on 10-month contract and locations; semi-monthly pay
