CNC Lathe Machinist

Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist
Location: Poway, CA
Schedule: Full-Time

1st shift Monday–Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
2nd shift Monday-Friday 2:15pm-10:45pm

Pay: $25-$40/hr

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to set up and operate CNC lathe machines to produce precision metal components. The ideal candidate is committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement while meeting production and delivery goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to machine metallic materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and engineering specifications.
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring tools.
• Monitor tool life and make tool offsets and adjustments as needed.
• Troubleshoot machine or tooling issues and perform routine operator maintenance.
• Complete basic deburring and rework when required.
• Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S standards.
• Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and operating procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC lathe machining experience.
• Experience using G and M codes.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
• Strong machining math skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of manufacturing safety and quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace manufacturing experience.
• Experience with tool life management.
• Experience setting up 3-axis CNC machines.
• Ability to interpret CMM inspection reports.
• Strong blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation skills.
