Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant supports clinical and administrative operations within healthcare settings by preparing patients, managing documentation, and assisting medical staff. Reporting directly to the Practice Manager, this role is critical in ensuring smooth patient flow and high-quality care delivery.

13-26 Week Contract with the option to go perm

Hours: Day 2x12-Hour (07:45 - 20:15); Day 2x8-Hour (07:45 - 16:15)

Work Days: Mon, Thurs, Fri, Sat

Off Days: Sun, Tues, Wed

Weekend REQ: Yes, every Saturday (OFF Sundays)

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams and procedures
• Measure and record vital signs
• Document medical information accurately
• Schedule patient appointments
• Sterilize medical equipment
• Verify insurance coverage
• Educate patients on care instructions
• Support clinical staff during procedures
• Perform administrative tasks
• Collect specimens for lab testing
• Administer medications as directed

Qualifications

• Experience: 6 months of experience working as an MA-C in an adult/pediatric outpatient clinic setting
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Knowledgeable in patient care and medical terminology
• Skilled in clinical procedures
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Familiar with HIPAA compliance standards
