Delivery Route Driver

Kansas City Ice is looking for a reliable, hard working, safety-conscious Route Driver Customer Consultant to join our logistics team! You will be responsible for the safe operation of a [16-ft or 26-ft] box truck, CDL required straight truck or tractor trailer; ensuring the timely delivery of goods to our customers while providing exceptional customer service. This is a physically active role that requires frequent loading/unloading and navigation of various urban and commercial environments.  In addition, our driver consultant is responsible for independently managing daily local routes to ensure timely and efficient delivery of our product. This role involves planning routes, inspecting the vehicle, and adhering to safety standards while utilizing company-provided routing software and GPS for navigation. The driver must maintain effective time management and communication skills to provide excellent customer service without the need for overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Safe Driving: Operate a company box truck in compliance with all traffic laws and DOT regulations. Maintain a defensive driving mindset in all weather and traffic conditions.
• Loading & Unloading: Safely load cargo to ensure weight distribution and stability. Unload products at customer sites using lift gates, dollies, and hand trucks.
• Vehicle Inspections: Conduct mandatory Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspections. Report any mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns to management immediately.
• Route Efficiency: Utilize GPS and Kansas City Ice routing software to follow the most efficient paths, ensuring on-time delivery while minimizing fuel consumption.
• Customer Service: Act as the "face of the company." Greet customers professionally, verify orders, and obtain necessary signatures or payments (COD).
• Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel purchases, and delivery confirmations through our mobile Cool Runnings app.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of delivery driving experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL), Class B License, or Non-CDL
• Strong route planning and time management skills
• Customer service and communication proficiency
• Experience using GPS navigation tools
• Effective problem-solving abilities
