Sales Associate / Store Manager – Automotive Paint & Supply

Job Summary

We are seeking a self-motivated, dependable, and customer-focused Sales Associate / Store Manager to join our automotive paint and supply team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in automotive refinish products, and retail sales who enjoys helping customers find the right products while working independently and taking initiative. The ideal candidate is honest, reliable, an effective problem solver, and capable of managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service, maintain inventory, support professional body shops and retail customers, and contribute to the overall success of the store. Management responsibilities may include supervising staff, overseeing store performance, and ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting automotive paint, body shop supplies, abrasives, primers, clear coats, and related products.
• Mix and match automotive paint using computerized color matching systems.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with automotive repair shops, dealerships, and retail customers.
• Receive, stock, organize, and replenish inventory.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
• Answer customer inquiries by phone, email, and in person.
• Coordinate special orders and vendor communications.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with purchasing and stock management.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and hazardous material handling requirements.
• (Store Manager) Supervise employees, create work schedules, train new team members, and oversee daily store operations.
• (Store Manager) Monitor sales performance, control expenses, and achieve store sales goals.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in automotive paint, body shop supplies, automotive parts, or industrial coatings preferred.
• Knowledge of automotive refinish products and paint mixing is highly desirable.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Sales experience in a retail or wholesale environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Honest, dependable, and committed to providing outstanding customer service.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) system experience, and QuickBooks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with paint mixing systems and color matching technology.
• Inventory management and merchandising experience.
• Leadership or supervisory experience for Store Manager candidates.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
