ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
LoneStar Fasteners is looking for the right, qualified individuals to join our team! We have 1 immediate Manual Machinist position (full-time) open within the Production area for our 1st shift at our facility in Spring, TX! The Manual Machinist will sets up and operates manual machines to perform production machining operations where sequences, set-up methods, material and tooling are specified by process drawings, work orders and other documents in order produce high quality components to our customer's specifications.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance policies.
- Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
- Reads blueprint or job order for product and job specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, number of parts to be run, tooling instructions or other written specifications
- Sets up machine, observes operation, and inspects first run and sample work pieces to ensure machining conforms to specifications
- Determines processing specifications such as materials, location of cutting lines, dimensions, tolerances and operational sequences
- Examines finished work pieces and verifies conformance to quality standards
- Records information such as number of work pieces processed, tested, machine readings and dates and times of product production
- Accurately completes work order paperwork/documentation
- Performs routine and preventative machine maintenance and inspections as required
- Assists other machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by the supervisor
EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment, operating manual machines, manual lathes, and manual mills. Drilling and broaching experience preferred
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); Associate's degree preferred.
- Able to read, understand, interpret and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing specifications
- Ability to adjust to changes without compromising Quality or Performance
- Must be able to work a shift schedule and overtime as needed, including weekends
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to stand for the duration of scheduled shift
- Ability to manually load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, platforms up to weighing 50 lbs
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close, Distance, Peripheral, Depth, and Ability to adjust focus
- Manual dexterity using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, lift, and hammer
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Manufacturing environment with multi step process production runs on different machines. High value highly customized components and high precision manufacturing for critical service applications
