Penmac Staffing is hiring a Welder/Grinder/Fabricator for a local manufacturing client in Springfield, MO. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity for a skilled welder with stainless steel fabrication experience who values quality, accuracy, and safety.
Requirements for the Welder/Grinder/Fabricator
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years of fabrication experience preferred
- MIG and TIG welding experience (approximately 60/40 split)
- Ability to weld stainless steel in 1G–6G positions and pass an ASME/PED weld test
- Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and tape measures
- Basic math skills and strong attention to detail
- Proficient with hand tools, fabrication equipment, and measuring devices
- Physically able to stand 8+ hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and wear required PPE
- Willingness to work in confined spaces and varying temperatures
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement or Lean/Six Sigma is a plus
Stainless Steel Welder / Fabricator Responsibilities
- Fit, tack, and weld stainless steel components per drawings and specifications
- Perform GTAW welding in all positions and ensure clean, uniform welds
- Set up welding equipment and plan layouts and assemblies
- Grind, polish, and clean weld joints
- Inspect welds and dimensions using precision measuring tools
- Perform NDT/Liquid Penetrant testing on inside welds
- Fabricate stainless steel equipment including cutting, bending, grinding, polishing, and assembly
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety procedures
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and complete other assigned tasks
Schedule and Pay
- 1st and 2nd shift available
- $20+/hour
Dress Code
- Steel-toed or composite safety-toe boots required
