You’ll build strong relationships and expand your resume by supporting the expanded SAILS and STEPs programs, delivering direct service to students with hearing impairments or limited verbal communication. With a hybrid or on-site schedule (minimum four days per week), your experience will be both professionally challenging and personally rewarding—while also allowing you time to enjoy the region’s culinary scene, jazz culture, and nearby adventures.

Qualifications:

  • State and district requirements for Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) level.
  • 0–3 years experience preferred; higher compensation for 4–6 and 7+ years.
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Prior school-based or educational interpreting strongly desired.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person or hybrid sign language interpretation for students in mainstream and special communication programs.
  • Collaborate with educators and evaluation teams to support students with hearing impairments and nonverbal needs.
  • Foster inclusive communication for all students served in the SAILS and STEPs programs.
