Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education
- Proven experience teaching at the elementary level preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to collaborate and co-teach with general education staff
- Skilled at differentiating instruction within inclusive classroom environments
- Compassionate, dedicated, and flexible mindset
Position Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction to elementary students with a variety of learning needs within an inclusion classroom
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt lessons and promote participation
- Develop, implement, and track progress on individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Actively communicate with parents, staff, and support personnel regarding student development
- Foster an environment centered on respect, acceptance, and growth
- Assess academic and behavioral progress, and adjust strategies as needed
- Participate in professional meetings and ongoing training to stay current with best practices
