Make an impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting K-4 students in a vibrant school community near South Burlington, VT. This contract opportunity places you in a dynamic setting, collaborating with general education classrooms and focusing on personalized literacy interventions. You'll serve a caseload of 10 students, blending push-in and pull-out services to meet diverse needs within supportive, inclusive environments.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) for K-4
  • Previous experience working in elementary settings, preferably K-4
  • Strong track record developing and implementing IEPs
  • Skilled at both push-in and pull-out program delivery
  • Training in Orton-Gillingham or similar structured literacy approaches preferred
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills with students, staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve a caseload of 10 students embedded in general education classrooms
  • Deliver a combination of push-in and pull-out support based on individual needs
  • Develop, monitor, and report on IEP goals and learning progress
  • Plan differentiated instruction that addresses various learning styles and disabilities
  • Provide direct literacy intervention, particularly utilizing Orton-Gillingham principles
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and support classroom integration
