Job Title: Pipe WelderJob Description

This role involves working on-site at an industrial construction facility in Morristown, IN, performing new construction on stainless and carbon steel piping systems. You will install pipes, fixtures, and related systems in buildings and structures, using a range of welding processes to ensure high-quality, code-compliant installations. You will read and interpret blueprints, follow applicable building codes, and verify that all systems are properly installed and functioning.

Responsibilities
  • Install stainless steel and carbon steel pipe, fixtures, and related systems in industrial buildings and structures.
  • Perform new construction piping work, including layout, fit-up, and welding of stainless and carbon steel pipe.
  • Use TIG, MIG, flux core, stick, and other welding processes to complete high-quality pipe welds.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine pipe routing, dimensions, and installation requirements.
  • Follow building codes, site standards, and project specifications to ensure all piping systems are installed correctly and safely.
  • Perform structural and fabrication tasks related to pipe supports, structures, and associated components as needed.
  • Fit, tack, and align pipe and structural components prior to final welding to maintain proper alignment and tolerances.
  • Inspect completed welds and piping systems to verify quality, integrity, and functionality.
  • Operate safely around large equipment and moving materials, maintaining awareness of site conditions at all times.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and best practices in an industrial construction environment.
Essential Skills
  • 3–5+ years of pipe welding experience in an industrial or construction environment.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding on stainless and carbon steel pipe.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding, including industrial MIG applications.
  • Experience with flux core welding processes.
  • Experience with stick welding, including electrodes such as 6010 and 7018.
  • Demonstrated ability in stainless steel welding and stainless pipe welding.
  • Strong pipe welding and pipe fitting skills for new construction projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to follow building codes and project specifications to ensure proper installation.
  • Capability to pass a weld test, including 2" Monster Coupon 6010/7018, 2" schedule 80 TIG weld, and cutting straps from both for inspection.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Industrial construction experience working on large-scale projects.
  • Experience with structural welding and fabrication work.
  • Ability to perform precise fit-up, tacking, and alignment of pipe and structural components.
  • Comfort working with various welding processes and adapting to project-specific requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
  • Solid understanding of safe work practices in industrial construction environments.
